Post 94 (3d since the last post)
Aaaand done. The colored light study (green light, blue fill light) was a lot trickier as I couldn't rely on earlier studies (usually outdoors) when picking my colors. I think I'm done with these for now.
A sketchbook where I post what I am up to in art daily and mostly talk to the void. I have set up this sketchbook to keep my art journey structured.
Post 92 (One day since my last post)
Did one of the outdoor references. There is still some work to do, but it's mostly done.
Pretty happy with it, but not so much with my speed. I think I ponder too much.
Finding colors can be so rewarding. I often try to think about what a shadow color should be according to the color theory videos I remember and a little bit of my own experience. I then put it on the canvas and sometimes it's spot on, which gives me some confidence. Other times it's off, but then I get to learn something new.
One thing I noticed was that the shadow of a warm local color desaturates when the fill light is cold. I saw it happening in the shadow of the box.
I definitely need to keep that in mind for future studies, since I am always skeptical when I figure out something on my own.
I am gonna try to wrap this one up tomorrow and quickly fix up the edges of the last study since I forgot to do that. After that, one more study with unusual lightning and I should be warmed up for some more tricky stuff.

Did another color study today, it went pretty well I'd say. It's pretty nuts how much life some color variation adds, even to dull objects.
I think I will do two more (an outdoor one and one with colored lightning) and move on to some more fun stuff. Thinking of caricatures or doing some clothing studies.
Post 90 (14 days since the last post)
Calling these blogposts posts instead of days is more accurate nowadays, as I don't have the drive to post daily anymore. I have luckily been drawing daily since the last time I posted.
Mostly filled pages in my sketchbook with distorted faces and figures, but I also picked up my digital pencil again. I had no desire to scan the sketchbook pages, but do have a desire to upload the digital stuff. Some simple studies to get myself back into gear again. Also watched a video about color theory from Ganbold. I am in a study mood so I'll probably be posting more of these, at least until I feel comfortable digitally again.
Day 89 (But not really, its been 120 days since my last post!)
Oh boy. How do I even start this post? It's been such a long time.
I've barely been drawing for the last couple of months. It's only been a week since I've started drawing daily again.
I've had motivational and depression issues - Not just for art, but for putting in effort in my life at all. Exercising and slowly picking up the pieces of my life have given me some new energy for art again.
I've somewhat changed my attitude towards art as well. It used to be something that gave my life all its meaning, but I've come to realize that that approach is not sustainable for me. Life comes first, and it happens that its force sometimes pours itself into art for me. I am privileged when it does, but I will no longer put art before myself.
Anyhow, I don't want to fill up the blog with ramblings about my depressive episode. I wanted to share the gestures I did today. I am very proud of how they turned out and just had to make a post again! I hope it will spark a new chain of posts. Updating the blog daily really helped me in my artistic improvements.
Day 88 (But not really)
Ehh... It's been two weeks since my last post, but I figured I'd keep counting from the last day since I barely worked on art besides the occasional doodle. I felt into a deep depression and I haven't really gotten out of it, unfortunately, but it's going a bit better. Got myself to fill an entire sketchbook page today.
